Here there be demon smashing!

Greta does end up sitting, after a while, because she doesn't know what else to do, and frankly, the demon doesn't seem to, either (though he at least manages to look unflappable). Her attempts to sneak or sprint off had been met with either physical or magical resistance. He'd eventually summoned up a copy of the bizarre contract she's ostensibly agreed to, allowing her to look it over for loopholes, but she hasn't had much luck on that front. Even the desperate insistence that she was already married hadn't gotten her far; she's not a convincing liar, and hadn't had much of an answer to his, 'and where's the lucky man?'

Something must be happening outside, though, because she can hear sirens. None of them are coming towards her, but she's heard the stories about the rash of small fires across the city. Probably just more of those. Besides, even if they weren't busy, would the authorities even bother with a missing person who wasn't native to the city?

Her phone had been buzzing intermittently, but it hasn't in some time, now. Have her friends given up on her? Or is whatever's prompting the sirens demanding their attention? She fiddles nervously with the necklace, and tries not to panic.
