More than anything

Oh, god, she's been spotted. Not that she's been making any great attempt to be stealthy. That would require more energy than she possesses, and more attention to her surroundings than she's evidently able to pay. And it's Marius, which makes her want to kick herself. She knows how busy he is, and he has more important things to focus on than her troubles.

Nor does she relish the thought of getting into it here, in the middle of a grocer's. She lifts her shoulders in a frustrated, hapless shrug. What is she supposed to say? What words can she even get out without choking on them?

"A lot," she finally says, voice hoarse. She can't even look at him.
