He realizes his mistake a second too late. Thomas is on his feet as soon as Greta starts moving towards the door and he gently catches her, pulling her against him.

"You look stunning, Greta Baker," he murmurs, gently stroking her cheek. "Can't you see you struck me utterly speechless?"

He doesn't want her for a moment to think that his silence had been disapproval or, perhaps worse, apathy. He laughs a little, mostly at himself. "Darling, I can't recall the last time I saw you in trousers, and this-- this is--"

Thomas steps back, holding Greta at arm's length so he can get a better look at her.

"I'll have to come up with some better descriptors later, but Greta, you look amazing."
