More than anything

"It was a gift from home," she says with a dry smile. "One of my associates from home got it last year. Payment for a job we did. My share is... enough to keep me comfortable for a long time, if I'm careful. And I have a regular income anyway. The only thing I paid for recently out of my stash was the materials for Geralt's cabin."

Another flicker of sadness, but also a sort of fondness. She'd liked sitting with Dorian and watching Geralt and Bull and Krem work on the cabin. Now two of those men were gone, and she missed them.

"Sorry," she says after a moment with a little hiccup. "I've had quite enough of losing people lately, you see."
